Yellow Goat Design team has designed a pendant lighting fixture inspired by the Banksia plant, found during James Cook’s Pacific voyage

Inspired by the spiky cone of a plant collected on the voyage of the Endeavor, the Banksia pendant lighting, designed and manufactured by Yellow Goat Design, has evolved towards a perfect modern chandelier.

Banksia has recently won a 2022 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

It is designed with gently curved plywood elements creating an outer shell.

Its look can be raw wood or tinted to create a colorful carousel.

It is internally lit by LED bi-pins mounted on a powder-coated central core and suspended on stainless steel cables from a Ø1’ mirror ACM ceiling plate.

Project: Banksia
Designer: Yellow Goat Design Team
Manufacturer: Yellow Goat Design
